Dr. Sam Chandan is Special Economic Advisor to PBS Real Estate.
In this role, Dr. Chandan oversees PBS' market research activities. Dr. Chandan works with our Principals to support PBS' clients in assessing conditions in the US and European economies.
Dr. Chandan is also President and Chief Economist of Real Estate Econometrics and Adjunct Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Amongst the commercial real estate industry's preeminent economists, Dr. Chandan has served as an advisor to a vast array of the nation's banks and non-bank lenders, securitized debt market participants, equity investors, developers, operators, and policy makers. He has expertise in the analysis of property market trends, capital, and credit market performance, and the identification of systemic risk in commercial mortgage portfolios. His analysis of economic and real estate market conditions has appeared in hundreds of publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and the Economist.
Prior to forming Real Estate Econometrics, Dr. Chandan was Chief Economist at Reis, where he was responsible for forecasting, valuation, risk, and capital markets products and research, and CMBS and portfolio analytics services. Among his other appointments, he has served as a reviewer for the Harvard Business School Press, is a Visiting Scholar at Baruch College, an Eminent Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and a member of the Advisory Board of the Real Estate Research Institute. |
