Principal and a founding partner of PBS Realty Advisors, Mr. Brod’s experience covers tenant and owner representation throughout New York City and other major U.S. cities. Since beginning his career at Edward S. Gordon in 1980, he has personally facilitated several billion dollars worth of office and retail leases. In the past 15 years alone, he has been personally responsible for leasing more than 30 million square feet of commercial (office and retail) space in several of the most innovative transactions in New York City. He is currently responsible for over one million square feet of commercial office and retail leasing agency assignments.

Mr. Brod has been personally responsible for negotiating leases on behalf of: Stroock & Stroock & Lavan (over 200,000 sf); Parker Chapin (75,000 sf); Predictive Systems (100,000 sf); Competitive Media Reporting - formerly VNU (60,000 sf); The Limited (50,000 sf); MTA (70,000 sf) Bank of New York (140,000 sf): Karsch Capital; Ulysses Partners; Assante; and Interworld (100,000 sf).
Mr. Brod has also been responsible for numerous building leasing agency assignments. While at Insignia/ESG (now known as CB Richard Ellis), Mr. Brod was responsible for a portfolio of over 3 million sf of prime midtown office space. More recently, he has represented such properties as the Chanin Building, 500 Fifth Avenue, 575 Lexington Avenue, 26 Broadway, 40 Wall Street, 475 Tenth Avenue, 550 Seventh Avenue, 520 Broadway, 485 Fifth Avenue and most recently 150 East 52nd Street.
Additionally, Mr. Brod has been responsible for some of the most significant recent retail transactions in NYC: Hollister for 40,00 sf at 600 Broadway, Abercrombie & Fitch for 35,000 sf at 720 Fifth Avenue, Room & Board for 35,000 sf at 105 Wooster Street and Ecko for 25,000 sf at the Times Square theatre building on 42nd Street.
In 2007 Mr. Brod successfully represented Princeton Properties in the leasing of over 200,000 sf at 150 East 52nd Street. |

The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) has nominated Mr. Brod for its “Most Ingenious Deal of the Year” award five times – in 1995 for Stroock & Stroock & Lavan at 180 Maiden Lane, in 1999 for a retail transaction on Madison Avenue for Donna Karan, in 2005 for the Ecko retail Flagship transaction in Times Square, in 2006 for Abercrombie & Fitch at 720 Fifth Avenue and in 2007 for Hollister flagship at 600 Broadway.
In August 2005, Real Estate Weekly named Mr. Brod as one of its “Top Deal Makers” in its 50th Anniversary edition.
He was ranked among New York City’s TOP BROKERS by CoStar Group based on 2007 retail leasing volume. Mr Brod serves on the Center for Real Estate and Urban Analysis advisory board at The George Washington University School of Business. |
